Restorative DentistryRebuilding Baton Rouge’s Smiles, One Tooth at a Time

Our restorative dental options give patients a choice about the type of care they have completed. There isn’t always one right or wrong way to treat a tooth, and we understand that our patients have different goals and priorities. Dr. Platt and Dr. Kidder will always recommend the treatment that they would feel best on their own smiles, but they will also present you with alternatives that still meet their standards of care.

We offer:

Tooth-Colored Fillings

Composite fillings require less tooth preparation than traditional metal fillings. They look natural, because the material is color matched to your tooth. We can also replace your silver fillings with tooth-colored fillings upon request. Our composite fillings are long-lasting and extremely durable, to ensure years of beauty.

Inlays and Onlays

Do you have a tooth that is broken or damaged past the point of being repaired with a filling, but a full-coverage crown isn’t quite necessary? Dental inlays and onlays are perfect for these situations! Our porcelain inlays and onlays preserve the remaining healthy tooth structure and restore the missing portions so that more invasive treatments aren’t necessary.

Crowns and Bridges

Porcelain crowns and bridges are great for repairing badly damaged teeth or replacing teeth that are missing. The crown or bridge is shaped and shaded to look as if they were natural teeth, so they can be placed anywhere in your mouth. Most treatments require 2 visits, with the supporting teeth being prepared and an impression taken at the first visit; in about 3 weeks, the final restoration is ready to be definitively bonded or cemented into place.

Partials and Dentures

One of the easiest ways to replace missing teeth is with a removable partial denture or full denture. With regular care and maintenance, our partials and dentures can last you for several years. We even offer fixed implant-supported dentures!

Partial Denture Procedure

Dental implants provide a tooth replacement option that potentially can last you an entire lifetime. They can be used to support individual dental crowns, multi-tooth dental bridges, or even full-mouth dentures or bridges. Drs. Platt and Kidder both provide dental implant restoration services and final implant restorations after a surgeon has placed the implant(s).

Root Canals

Damage to your tooth nerve can cause severe pain, abscesses, and death of the tooth. Root canal therapy reverses these infections and allows you to keep your tooth as long as possible. We offer selective root canal treatments in our office, depending on the location and extent of involvement.

Single Visit RCT Procedure

Oral Surgery

Tooth removal is sometimes necessary for pain relief, infection, and the protection of nearby teeth. Dental extractions are relatively quick to complete, and we’ll ensure your comfort throughout the entire procedure. After your extraction, we’ll work with you to manage any discomfort as well as discuss tooth replacement options.
